The President of Turkmenistan and the head of the government of Azerbaijan discussed the priority directions of a bilateral cooperation

The President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov who is in Baku on the official visit held on August 8 a meeting with the Prime minister of Azerbaijan Artur Rasizade.

The head of the Azerbaijani Government congratulated the Turkmen leader on successfully completed summit talks and signing of a packet of the bilateral documents aimed at expansion of the Turkmen-Azerbaijani partnership. 

The President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted that the Turkmen side estimates a current visit as an important stage on the way of diversification of bilateral interaction. 

During the meeting the President of Turkmenistan and the head of the government of Azerbaijan discussed the course of implementation of the agreements reached earlier and the perspective directions of partnership. 

The parties exchanged opinions on approaches to an intensification of a trade and economic cooperation, implementation of joint projects in energy and transport and transit spheres, expansion of contacts between entrepreneurial structures of two countries, etc.

Also importance of expansion of humanitarian interaction, in particular, in the field of science, cultures, information, tourism and sport was noted. 

In this regard the President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov invited the Prime minister of Azerbaijan to the opening ceremony of the V Asian Indoor and Martial Arts games which will take place in Ashgabat on September 17.
