"Pakistan notes a strategic role of the project of the gas pipeline the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan Pakistan-India (TAPI) and expresses every possible commitment to a further cooperation with Turkmenistan". The new ambassador of Pakistan in Turkmenistan Murad Ashraf Dzhandzhua at a meeting in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, during which he handed copies of credential letters, told about it, the website of Foreign Ministry of the country reports.
Also it is noted that during the meeting issues of further activization of the Turkmen-Pakistani cooperation were discussed. In particular, questions of preparation for the regular meeting of the intergovernmental commission which was planned to be held in Ashgabat in the nearest future were considered.
Having exchanged opinions on a current status of the relations, the parties noted dynamic development of political and diplomatic interaction.
Noting the prospects of development of the relations for a wide range of the directions, the parties discussed possibilities of development of a cooperation in spheres of economy, trade, culture and education.
As earlier it was reported, recently the Minister of Oil and natural resources of Pakistan the Shahid Hagan Abbasi told journalists that he intended to receive the first batch of gas from Turkmenistan on the TAPI Pakistan gas pipeline in 2020.
At a meeting of the Government on August 10 information on the carried-out work on a construction of the TAPI transnational pipeline was heard. In particular, it was noted that the construction of the Turkmen site of this energy highway is conducted according to the schedule.
