The five-sided meeting of heads of ports of the Caspian countries will take place in the National tourist area Avaza on October 13-14, 2017. The vice-chairman of Cabinet council of the country the Bayram Annameredov at the meeting of the Government last Friday reported on preparation for holding the forthcoming meeting.
During the meeting representatives of Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Russia and Turkmenistan will discuss issues of a cooperation in the field of navigation, maritime freight transportation, safety of navigation, capacity-building of the Caspian ports, including due to upgrade of a production infrastructure, modernization and implementation of modern technologies in services industry of vessels.
Having heard the report, the President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized that development of the international commercial ties and foreign trade of Turkmenistan causes growth of amounts of the processed cargo flows in servicing of which role of all acting and newly created in accelerated rates large transport hubs, including modern seaport of the city of the Turkmenbashi as a strategic element of the transport system of the country systematically raises.
Having noted that amounts of mutual trade of the states of the "Caspian five" are already expressed in solid indicators, the head of the state emphasized that there are all opportunities for considerable building-up of economic interaction.
According to experts, considering the prospects of development of economies of the countries of the Central Asian region, increase in amounts of a mutual cargo turnover and increase in a flow of transit cargoes to these countries through port of the Turkmenbashi is predicted.
Construction of new international seaport, design capacity of 15 million tons of freights of different function in a year the Turkish company "Gap Inşaat" conducts. This investment project provides a construction of the car-and-passenger ferry terminal and container terminals. The general loading terminal, the terminal of loose goods, the polypropylene terminal and also ship-building and repair yard which will occupy the territory in 166 thousand square meters will enter the complex.
