Turkmen-Afghan trade house opened in Mazari Sharif

One of the practical steps of Turkmenistan to expand economic cooperation with Afghanistan was the opening in Mazari Sharif Afghan province of Balkh joint trading house "Turkmenistan". The project was implemented by the Union of industrialists and entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan with the Afghan private companies with the assistance of state agencies of the two countries.

The heads of administrative bodies of Balkh province, representatives of the foreign Ministry and other government agencies, IRA businesses, diplomatic missions and the media were participated in the opening ceremony of the trading house “Turkmenistan”.

In a two-story shopping center features a variety of food and industrial products produced in Turkmenistan. In addition to the high demand of textile and carpet products, displayed here products and new industries, which are dynamically developing Turkmen entrepreneurs. These include electronic engineering, intensively emerging in the framework of the state program of import substitution and increase export potential.

Appreciated the Afghan consumers and quality food, a variety of pastries, natural juices, fruit canned and etc.

In these days in Mazari Sharif was held a meeting of Turkmen entrepreneurs with Afghan businessmen, which discussed further steps to develop business contacts and mutual trade, joint forums and exhibitions, information exchange in the field of economy and investment.

Specific issues of cooperation were also discussed at a meeting of the members of the Turkmen delegation with the head of Balkh province.

Turkmenistan is committed to ensuring that our southern neighbour –Afghanistan – peace and stability. President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov is convinced that it is necessary to use exclusively political-diplomatic, trade-economic and humanitarian mechanisms. Solutions to these issues will be discussed at the upcoming Ashgabat 7th Conference of regional economic cooperation with Afghanistan.
