The prospects of commercial ties between two countries were discussed at a meeting of the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov with the minister of affairs of the Office of the Emir of Kuwait by the sheikh Nasser Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
Having emphasized that his country attached huge significance to strengthening of ties with Turkmenistan and to building-up of the bilateral relations, the sheikh transferred to Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov the invitation from the head of the friendly country to pay to Kuwait an official visit to any time, convenient for it.
Having thanked for the invitation, the head of the state emphasized that comprehensive cooperation increase with the countries of the Middle East was among priorities of the foreign policy of Turkmenistan.
Having exchanged opinions on a present condition and the planned directions of the Turkmen-Kuwaiti relations, the parties noted the huge potential which could be involved in the interests of mutually beneficial cooperation.
The President of Turkmenistan and his guest discussed the issues concerning prospects of commercial and cultural ties between the countries.
Possibilities of activization of contacts in energy industry became a subject of the interesting discussion. Having noted that Turkmenistan and Kuwait possessed the largest inventories of hydrocarbons in the world, the parties emphasized mutual interest in interaction in the field of development and export of energy resources on the international markets. In this context the guest noted relevance of the initiatives announced by the Turkmen leader in this area.
Among perspective spheres investments, trade, a construction, ore mining industry were also called.
Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the sheikh Nasser Sabah Al-Ahmad Al Jaber Al-Sabah also supported expansion of contacts in scientific and educational area, the cultural sphere and also through tourism and sport.
The Ambassador of Kuwait in Turkmenistan Mazhdi Ahmad Al-Dafiri participated in the meeting.
