Works on a construction of the Transanatolian pipeline are complete for 82%

Physical works on a construction of the Transanatolian pipeline (TANAP) are complete for 82 percent. It was said by the president of the Azerbaijani state company SOCAR Rovnag Abdullaevspeaking at the action devoted to Day of oil industry workers, the Trend reports.

According to R. Abdullaev, the section of the pipeline to Eskisehir will be constructed by the middle of the next year.

"Works on expansion of the South Caucasian pipeline are complete for more than 90 percent", - the news agency quotes Abdullaev.

The TANAP pipeline will be laid from the Georgian-Turkish border to the western border of Turkey and provides gas transportation from the Azerbaijani field "Shah Deniz". Total length of TANAP constitutes 1 850 kilometers.

Initial handling capacity of the TANAP pipeline, as expected, will make 16 billion cubic meters of gas a year. About 6 billion cubic meters will be delivered to Turkey, the rest - to Europe.

The shareholding structure of TANAP looks as follows: SOCAR - 58 percent, Botas - 30 percent, BP - 12 percent.

Project cost of TANAP constitutes 8,5 billion dollars.

We will note that the TANAP pipeline will become a part of a pipeline system "The southern gas corridor" which is intended for supply of natural gas from the Caspian region to the market of Europe. Now the European Union together with Azerbaijan, Turkey and Turkmenistan discusses the possibilities of transportation also the Turkmen gas by this pipeline system.
