The Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov expects that, except the Convention on legal status of the Caspian Sea, also a number of documents on a cooperation in various spheres will be submitted for consideration of leaders of the Caspian states within the meeting in Kazakhstan, including - initiated by Turkmenistan.
"At the initiative of Turkmenistan actively goes works on preparation of intergovernmental agreements on economic cooperation and on interaction in the sphere of transport. Emphasized relevance of registration with separate protocols of a cooperation between our law-enforcement structures in such purposes as fight against poaching, terrorism, crime", - S. Lavrov at a press conference told following the results of a meeting of Foreign Ministers of the Caspian states, Interfax reports.
"In very advanced stage of coordination there is a draft agreement on prevention of incidents on the Caspian Sea, based on forming of strong system of measures of trust in the region", - the minister added.
"All these documents which I mentioned which are now discussed at the level of experts, we expect to submit for approval of the summit in Kazakhstan along with the draft convention on legal status of the Caspian Sea", - he noted.
The minister added that "separately mentioned a perspective of implementation of the framework Teheran convention on protection of the marine environment of the Caspian Sea".
"We noted readiness of all our countries in the nearest future to accept the protocol to the Teheran convention, the protocol on an environmental impact assessment in a cross-border context. The Russian side recognizes that this protocol will be signed before signing of the convention or while it is approved by heads of states", - S. Lavrov concluded.
