The priority directions of a cooperation between Turkmenistan and the European Union countries were discussed

The wide range of questions of a bilateral trade and economic cooperation between Turkmenistan and the European Union was discussed at the seventeenth meeting of Joint Committee "Turkmenistan-EU" which took place on December 5, 2017 in Ashgabat. It is reported on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.  

For participation in the meeting in the Turkmen capital the delegation of the European Union arrived, it was headed by director of Russia, the Eastern Partnership, Central Asia, the Regional cooperation and OSCE in the European Service of Foreign Policy Activities (ESFPA) Luc Pierre Devin.

During the meeting the parties discussed such issues as a macroeconomic situation in Turkmenistan, supremacy of law and humanitarian issues, reform of public administration, an energy drink, transport and environmental protection.

The parties also exchanged opinions concerning development of a regional cooperation, implementation of engineering designs and programs of the EU in Turkmenistan, energy projects, to opportunities of diversification of supply of gas from Turkmenistan to Europe, projects of the EU in the sphere of safety of "CADAP" and "BOMCA".

Another, 18th meeting of Joint Committee "Turkmenistan — the European Union" the parties agreed to carry out in Brussels in 2018.
