Turkmenistan exported 795,5 thousands of tons of fuel oil in 2017, which is 39.6 per cent more compared with the year 2016. It is reported by the information Agency Media-Turkmen "Orient".
However, the elaboration of fuel oil at the Turkmenbashi complex of oil refineries (TCOR) in 2017 amounted to 699 thousand tons, an increase of 20.2 percent. Thus, a large share of exports of fuel oil last year amounted to unrealized informed the remnants of this fuel, which fell by 76.3 per cent and amounted to 25.8 thousand tons.
Given the fact that the oil residues can be used for further purification, TCOR is actively increasing the depth of processing of raw materials, modernising and constructing new process units.
As a result, the oil whose production in Turkmenistan is increasing every year in the future will become the raw material for the manufacture of various types of petroleum products with high added value.
Currently, the Turkmenbashi oil refinery produces unleaded motor gasoline, aviation and technical kerosene, jet fuel, diesel, fuel oil, lubricating oil, polypropylene, heating oil, light gas oil, petroleum electrode coke, liquefied gas, construction and road bitumen, and other petrochemical products, the basis of the export potential of the country.
About 55 percent of this production is exported to Tajikistan, Georgia, China, Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Russia, UAE and other countries.
