TAPI is a significant step in the implementation of Turkmenistan's energy strategy

The TAPI project is an important and effective step towards the implementation of Turkmenistan's energy strategy. As Trend reports, this was stated at the round table on the topic "Turkmenistan - the Heart of the Great Silk Road," by the first Secretary and Consul of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Azerbaijan Batyr Rejepov.

The Consul noted that one of the key aspects of Turkmenistan's energy strategy is the creation of a diversified system of transportation of energy resources to world markets while ensuring a balance of interests of producers, transiters and consumers.

"Constructive initiatives of the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov are aimed at achieving the goals, the relevance of which is evidenced by the fact of unanimous adoption of the relevant resolutions by the UN General Assembly. Speaking from the position of equal and mutually beneficial cooperation, Turkmenistan has significantly expanded the geography of direct energy dialogue with foreign partners", - Rejepov said.

Speaking about the expansion of economic cooperation, the Consul also stressed the importance of the construction and commissioning of the Kerki-Yamnazar-Akina railway (between Turkmenistan, Afghanistan and Tajikistan) and Serkhetabat-Turgundi railway, which became a huge contribution to the economic development of Afghanistan and further strengthening of the country's ties with Turkmenistan by increasing the volume of cargo turnover.

"Having access to the international seaport of Turkmenbashi, Afghanistan will be able to enter further across the sea into markets of Azerbaijan, Georgia, Turkey and European countries", - Rejepov tells.
