World Bicycle day will be celebrated for the first time in Turkmenistan on June 3

On June 3, Turkmenistan will celebrate world Bicycle day for the first time, announced by the UN at the initiative of our country. On this occasion in Ashgabat on this day from 7  AM to 7 PM will be limited traffic in favor of cyclists. This was announced at a special meeting of the government on the preparation for major sporting events in the country, which President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held on may 22 in the Olympic city of the capital.

At the meeting, the head of the state signed a Decree on the celebration of the world Bicycle day and gave instructions on the organization of events dedicated to this date.

As the President noted, taking into account the numerous requests of the country's population, it is necessary to hold a large-scale environmental event on June 3 without vehicles.

In this regard, the Minister of internal Affairs I. Mulikov and hakim of Ashgabat Sh. Durdylyev charged June 3 from 7 AM to 19 PM to restrict the movement of vehicles on the roads of the capital. On this day, only public transport will be driven through the streets of the capital.

In addition, the head of the state gave instructions to attract the population to Cycling and modernization of all available infrastructure in this area. In particular, it is planned to hold in all regions of the country bike rides and Bicycle marathons. The head of state expressed his desire to take part in these mass actions.

The meeting also discussed the issues of preparation for the international rally "Amul-Khazar-2918" and the world weightlifting championship.
