Turkmenistan and Kuwait checked the implementation of interstate agreements

Issues of bilateral cooperation were discussed at the meeting of the Minister of foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov with the Ambassador of Kuwait to Turkmenistan Majdi Ahmad al-Dhafiri, who arrived in Ashgabat on a working visit. This was reported on the website of the foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan.

During the talks, the parties discussed issues of cooperation in political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres. The importance of the summit negotiations in the context of identifying key vectors of cooperation with Kuwait on a long-term basis was stressed.

As noted in the foreign Ministry, during the official visit of the President of Turkmenistan to Kuwait in March 2018, a solid package of bilateral documents was signed. In this regard, the parties conducted a thorough analysis of the implementation of interstate agreements and agreements reached during the visit.

The parties also discussed a wide range of regional and international issues of mutual interest, and stressed the need to continue bilateral consultations in regional and international organizations, primarily the UN and its specialized agencies, which form the basis of multilateral cooperation.

Regarding humanitarian contacts, the parties agreed to establish cooperation in such areas as culture, science and education.

As previously reported, during the official visit to Kuwait and the summit talks on March 13, 2018, a package of documents was signed, including: a document on the provision of technical support between the government of Turkmenistan and the Kuwait Fund for Arab economic development, a Memorandum of understanding on cooperation between the government of Turkmenistan and the Kuwait Fund for Arab economic development, a Memorandum of understanding between the state concern "Turkmengaz" and the company "Kuwait Petroleum Corporation".

In addition, Agreements on economic and technical cooperation, on trade cooperation, on the establishment of a joint Turkmen-Kuwaiti Commission for cooperation were signed at the level of governments.
