The Presidents of Turkmenistan and Pakistan discussed the opportunities of partnership activation

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President of Pakistan Mamnun Hussain held a meeting in Dushanbe within the framework of participation in the forum "Water for sustainable development", held yesterday in the capital of Tajikistan. This is reported by the state news Agency of Turkmenistan.

During the conversation, the parties highly appreciated the dynamics of the interstate dialogue. As Mamnun Hussain stressed, Pakistan is interested in intensifying cooperation with Turkmenistan and supports the creative initiatives of the Turkmen leader aimed at maintaining peace and sustainable development on The Asian continent and the world as a whole.

In this context, the head of Pakistan noted the importance of the initiatives of Turkmenistan supported by the world community to create transcontinental energy and transport corridors.

The President of Pakistan also stressed the relevance of Turkmenistan's proposals to unite efforts in addressing such aspects of environmental issues as the preservation and restoration of water and other natural resources, combating desertification and land degradation, prevention and minimization of the consequences of natural and man-made disasters.

In turn, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted the productivity of the strategic partnership with Pakistan, which is successfully developing both in bilateral and multilateral formats.

During the conversation, the sides exchanged views on key aspects of increasing cooperation, primarily in the fuel and energy, transport and communication spheres.

In this context, the leaders of Turkmenistan and Pakistan expressed mutual interest in the implementation of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline project, as well as the construction of the power transmission and fiber-optic communication line Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan (TAP).

At the end of the meeting, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Mamnun Hussein confirmed Turkmenistan and Pakistan's commitment to the course of diversification of multi-format cooperation in the interests of the two countries.
