Since January 1, 2019, Turkmenistan will increase by 10 percent the monthly wages of employees of budget-funded institutions, self-supporting enterprises and public associations, pensions and state benefits, scholarships for pupils and students. The corresponding Decree was signed by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov at the enlarged meeting of the government, which reviewed the results of socio-economic development of Turkmenistan for the first half of 2018.
In particular, according to the decree, since January 1, 2019, the minimum pension of the participants of the Great Patriotic war has been set at 1,286 manats per month. The minimum amount of pensions for spouses of participants of the Great Patriotic war and home front workers will be 377 manats per month.
Starting from January 2019, the basic value for determining the minimum pension amount has been determined in the amount of 307 manats, the basic value for calculating state benefits - in the amount of 293 manats.
The presidential decree established the minimum wage in Turkmenistan in the amount of 790 manats from January 1, 2018, and it will be used to regulate monthly wages.
The decree notes that the increase in wages should be provided by improving the structure of institutions, enterprises and organizations, improving the efficiency of production capacity and productivity of workers, attracting unused domestic reserves.
