Macroeconomic indicators show a steady growth of the economy of Turkmenistan

According to the results of the first half of 2018, the GDP growth rate of Turkmenistan amounted to 6.2 percent, the indicators of production in comparison with the same period of 2017 increased by 4.4 percent. The growth rate of retail trade compared to the same period last year - by 19.7 percent. This was reported by vice-chairman Gochmyrat Myradov on an enlarged meeting of the government held on Thursday.

The average monthly salary increased by 9 per cent compared to the same period of the previous year. Wages, pensions, state benefits and student scholarships were paid in full and on time.

In January-June in all regions of the country, the construction of industrial, social and cultural facilities was carried out at a dynamic pace. The volume of disbursed investments at the expense of all sources of financing for the corresponding period amounted to 19.1 billion manats.

After hearing the report, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov focused on the need to continue to take comprehensive measures for the successful development of all sectors of the national economic complex. Among the priorities, the head of state has identified the implementation of previously given instructions on the industrialization of the country, the broad attraction of investment in the economy, its modernization and diversification, the formation of the electronic industry, the creation of new jobs.

Carrying out the mentioned works at the proper level is intended to increase the export potential of Turkmenistan and lead to the formation of a competitive economy, the head of the state addressed to the vice-chairman a number of specific instructions.
