Group on implementation of provisions of the Convention on the status of the Caspian Sea will meet in Azerbaijan in autumn

- A special high-level working group under the auspices of the Ministries of foreign affairs of the Caspian States, designed to implement the provisions of the Convention on the legal status of the Caspian Sea, will meet in autumn in Azerbaijan, - Minister of foreign affairs of Kazakhstan Kairat Abdrakhmanov said, INTERFAX-KAZAKHSTAN reports.

"There is an agreement that in the autumn of this year our group will meet and start working directly. Previously, we are talking about a meeting in Azerbaijan", - Abdrakhmanov told reporters on Tuesday in Astana.

He recalled that the working group should also develop an Agreement on the method of establishing direct baselines.

According to the Convention, each party will establish territorial waters not exceeding 15 nautical miles in width, measured from the baselines defined under the instrument.
