On Monday, a telephone conversation took place between President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, the TDH reports.
The interlocutors noted with satisfaction the friendly nature of the Turkmen-Russian relations built on the principles of mutual respect, constructiveness and strategic partnership.
Taking this opportunity, the head of Turkmenistan cordially congratulated his Russian counterpart on his birthday and wished him good health and great success in his responsible work at the highest state post.
Following the conversation, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Vladimir Putin discussed priority issues of interstate cooperation in the context of the agreements reached at the highest level, and the existing solid potential for mutually beneficial efforts in various fields. In this regard, the important role of the joint intergovernmental Commission in the implementation of the plans of bilateral cooperation, the development of its new promising areas was noted.
Among the key vectors of the Turkmen-Russian partnership are the trade and economic sphere, where there are great opportunities to diversify contacts, increase the volume and expand the range of trade, stimulate business and investment activity, as well as energy and transport and communication sector.
A good example of long-term cooperation is the close cooperation established between Turkmenistan and the largest regions and subjects of the Russian Federation, as well as the successful work of the leading companies of the Russian Federation in Turkmenistan.
During the telephone conversation, the parties also exchanged views on a number of relevant aspects of the regional and global agenda, confirming the commitment of Turkmenistan and Russia to constructive partnership within the UN and other international organizations in order to ensure world peace, security and prosperity.
