Kyrgyz President Sooronbay Jeenbekov said that it is necessary to intensify the construction of an additional gas pipeline route from Turkmenistan to China. As reported by the agency SPUTNIK Tajikistan, the head of Kyrgyzstan spoke about this at a meeting with the heads of foreign institutions of the country.
It is assumed that the 4th line (D) of the Turkmenistan-China gas pipeline will stretch along the route Turkmenistan-Uzbekistan-Kyrgyzstan-Tajikistan-China. At present, three operating branches of this gas pipeline - A, B and C - pass along the route Turkmenistan-Uzbekistan-Kazakhstan-China.
For Kyrgyzstan, the construction of a gas pipeline from Turkmenistan to China is beneficial because in addition to direct supplies of Turkmen natural gas to the country, transit and tax payments will be provided to the state treasury, and new jobs will be provided to the population.
With the laying of the 4th line of the Turkmenistan-China pipeline, the annual volume of Turkmen natural gas supplies will increase to 65 billion cubic meters.
At a meeting with heads of foreign institutions in the state residence "Ala-Archa" on March 14, Zheenbekov said that Kyrgyzstan had strengthened cooperation with all countries of the Central Asian region. The Kyrgyz leader emphasized that he had established trusting relations with President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Tajikistan Emomali Rakhmon.
“It is important to strengthen trade and economic cooperation and achieve an increase in the share of Kyrgyzstan’s exports in trade,” said Sooronbay Jeenbekov.
He also noted that for Kyrgyzstan it is important to use the opportunities of Turkmenistan in the fuel and energy and investment spheres.
