On August 12, 2019, the First Caspian economic forum will be held in the “Avaza” national tourist zone. This initiative of the respected President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov is supported by all the caspian states.
Comprehensive development of partnership with the states of the Caspian region is one of the main directions of Turkmenistan’s foreign policy, which is based on the principles of neutrality, good neighborliness and mutually beneficial cooperation. By implementing effective measures in this direction, our country is making a significant contribution to the realization of the enormous economic, energy and transport potential of the Caspian Sea.
The date of the First Caspian economic forum was not chosen by chance. It was on this day on August 12, 2006 that the Framework convention for the protection of the marine environment of the Caspian sea entered into force. On August 12, 2108, at the 5th Summit of the Caspian littoral states, a convention on the legal status of the Caspian sea was signed. Every year on August 12, the Caspian sea Day is widely celebrated in the “Avaza” International Tourist Zone.
The agenda of the upcoming forum will include a wide range of issues related to the development of cooperation in the Caspian sea. It will be attended by members of the government, ministries and departments, leaders of coastal regions and executive bodies, representatives of the banking sector, companies whose activities are related to the Caspian Sea, as well as representatives of international economic, environmental and other organizations scientists.
One of the main events of the forum is the Caspian innovative technological exhibition and the International conference. The conference will discuss the role of the economy of the Caspian region in the world, as well as the conditions for increasing investments in the oil and gas, electricity, trade, agricultural, tourism and other areas. Special attention will be paid to the implementation of joint investment projects and programs, opportunities for creating separate and specialized economic zones, the digital economy, as well as promising areas of cooperation between the Caspian states, in particular, the creation of joint ventures.
