Geneva held a briefing on the first Caspian Economic Forum

In the Turkmen Hall of the UN Geneva Office, the Permanent Mission of Turkmenistan in Geneva organized a briefing on the first Caspian Economic Forum, which will be held in Turkmenistan on August 12, 2019. This is the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

The briefing was attended by ambassadors, permanent representatives of Iran, the Russian Federation, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and a number of other countries, as well as heads of the Switzerland-CIS Joint Chamber of Commerce / Georgia (JCC), which is the leading private sector organization in Switzerland, and promotes bilateral business between Switzerland and the CIS, including with the countries of the Caspian basin.

The briefing participants were shown a video about the economic potential of the Avaza National Tourist Zone, where the forum will be held.

Ambassador Atageldi Khaldzhanov, Ambassador Permanent Representative of Turkmenistan at the UN Office in Geneva, familiarized the participants of the briefing with the preparation and conduct of the first CEF, with the concept of the forum. It was noted that the first forum of this scale within one of the largest regions, which is the Caspian basin, was initiated by President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov during the IV Summit of the heads of the Caspian states, which was held in Astrakhan (Russian Federation) on September 30, 2014.

Noting the importance of holding this forum, the ambassadors and permanent representatives of the Caspian littoral countries in their speeches spoke about the economic projects carried out in their countries in the field of transport, logistics, energy, aviation, shipping, the development of cooperation in which will contribute to the strengthening and expansion of economic relations in the Caspian Sea. region.
