On May 13, the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan held a meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Muhammad Javad Zarif, who arrived in Ashgabat on a working visit, the website of the foreign ministry of our country reports.
During the talks, the sides discussed a number of topical issues and reaffirmed their commitment to the development of mutually beneficial Turkmen-Iranian relations in the political, trade, economic and humanitarian spheres. The parties discussed in detail the cooperation of the two countries in the framework of international organizations, and also focused on the situation in Afghanistan.
Separately, issues related to the next meeting of the bilateral commission on economic cooperation, interaction in the energy, transport and trade sectors were considered.
The possibilities of attracting Iranian companies and business circles to the multi-functional projects implemented in Turkmenistan were also considered. The parties also discussed joint projects within the framework of cultural and humanitarian cooperation.
During the visit of the Iranian foreign Minister to Ashgabat, meetings were also held between the heads and representatives of the relevant ministries and departments of Turkmenistan and Iran, during which a wide range of issues were discussed.
