Turkmenistan's GDP growth at the end of five months remains at 6.2 percent

The national economy is consistently maintaining growth rates. This was said by President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, commenting on the results of five months of the current year, which were discussed at a government meeting held by the head of state on Thursday on digital video.

The President also noted that all the adopted social programs are being successfully implemented. As before, GDP growth remains at a high level - 6.2 percent.

In the period under review, exports of domestic products increased by 14 percent, while imports of goods decreased by 20 percent. Compared with the same period last year, high growth rates were achieved in all sectors of the economy.

Over the past five months, the planned facilities have been commissioned in Turkmenistan - industrial production, residential buildings, kindergartens, schools, shops and others. As a result of the successful activity of the economic complex, funds were accumulated, and we started to build numerous villages in the regions of the country. The construction of the administrative center of Akhal velayat has also begun. We are currently working on the construction of a new complex of facilities in the north of Ashgabat, the head of state said.

In accordance with the adopted plans, a policy of diversifying energy supplies to world markets is being implemented. A project to build the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India gas pipeline, as well as other regional projects, is underway, the head of state said.

The revenue part of the state budget of the country is 7.53 billion manat, and the expenditure side is 7.49 billion manat. Compared to the same period last year, the average monthly wage for large and medium-sized enterprises increased by 9.5 percent.
