By 2040, oil demand will rise to 112 million b / s - OPEC Secretary General

OPEC will publish a global review on November 5 with a long-term forecast for the oil and gas industry, oil demand is expected to grow to 112 million barrels per day by 2040, said OPEC Secretary General Mohammed Barkindo, Interfax-Kazakhstan reports.

"On November 5, we will publish a global review that will cover the forecast for the oil and gas industry. This and other publications that we develop are based on a thorough analysis, research. And our study tells us that oil and gas and the entire industry will prevail," - Barkindo said at the Kazenergy Energy Forum in the capital of Kazakhstan on Thursday.

“Oil and gas will remain and remain the largest share of energy until 2040. We also expect large growth in long-term demand for oil, which is expected to grow to 112 million barrels per day by 2040. Most of this will come from developing countries with rapid population growth and strong economic growth, "he said.

In a September report, OPEC wrote that global oil consumption in 2019 will increase by 1.02 million barrels of oil per day compared to 2018 - up to 99.84 million bpd.
