Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov congratulated his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin on his birthday on Monday. The interlocutors focused on the agenda of the upcoming October 11 meeting of the Council of CIS heads of state in Ashgabat.
Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov wished Vladimir Putin good health, happiness and prosperity, as well as new successes in all endeavors for the benefit of the people of the friendly country.
The leaders of the two countries noted with satisfaction the invariably friendly, constructive and trusting nature of interstate relations.
The President of Turkmenistan noted that constructive relations based on the principles of good neighborliness and mutual understanding are becoming more dynamic, they are distinguished by equality and openness, and stressed that a special role in successful cooperation is played by the personal attention and full support of the Russian leader.
The presidents also exchanged views on priority issues of the Turkmen-Russian partnership, stressing the existence of an impressive diverse potential, the implementation of which meets the common interests. Among the key vectors of cooperation are the energy sector, which is strategic for the economies of both countries, the transport sector and a number of other sectors. Humanitarian dialogue is called an important component of interstate relations.
The desire to further strengthen political, economic and cultural ties between the two countries was noted.
During the telephone conversation, Berdimuhamedov and Putin focused on the agenda of the upcoming meeting of the Council of CIS heads of state, which will be held in Ashgabat this week under the chairmanship of Turkmenistan, noting the importance of the upcoming summit for the further development of effective cooperation in the Commonwealth.
