Today the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, who is on a two-day visit in Doha, has met the Chief executive officer of Investment chamber of Qatar, the sheikh Abdullakh bin Mahomed bin Saod Al Thani. As the State TDH news agency reports, the parties have discussed the prospects of interaction taking into account the large-scale programs for upgrade of economy and implementation of innovative technologies deployed in Turkmenistan.
Among the priority directions of a cooperation the fuel and energy sector which is strategic for both world energy power countries, creation of high oil and gas-chemical technology productions, the transport and communication sphere, and others have been discussed.
During the conversation it has been emphasized that the large infrastructure projects realized in Turkmenistan with participation of the foreign companies opened good opportunities for an investment cooperation. Among them has been the construction of the transnational gas pipeline of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI). It has been noted that the known foreign companies showed great interest to this large-scale project financed with the assistance of Asian Development Bank.
For a cooperation also projects on further development of the huge gas field Galkynysh, development of hydrocarbon resources on the Turkmen shelf of the Caspian Sea have been called perspective.
Ample opportunities of partnership have been opened in the sphere of transport taking into account the Agreement on creation of the international transit and transport corridor signed earlier which will connect among themselves the countries of Central Asia and the Middle East.
During the meeting it has been noted that a business community of Qatar showed the increasing interest in the Turkmen market.
