The big resonance in a business and public community of the

world and foreign media was caused by the state visit of the

State of Qatar which took place on March 15-16, 2017.

During the negotiations which took place in Doha the President

Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the Emir of the State of Qatar

prospects of development of the bilateral relations, exchanged

opinions on a number of questions of worldwide and regional

policy, being of mutual interest.

Possibilities of effective addition of efforts in strategic areas, and,

first of all, in the trade and economic sphere became a principal

theme of the meeting. As it was noted, there was a set of the

directions where interaction of the parties could bring powerful

results. Good prospects for development of direct business

contacts between the government and entrepreneurial institutions

of two countries open in an occupational sector. This is an

investment in high-tech industries of economy, such as the power

overworking and the chemical industry, the textile industry.

The fuel and energy complex was determined one of the main

vectors of interstate interaction. Our countries have the richest

creates conditions for strengthening of a cooperation in the field.

Turkmenistan consistently and surely realizes the strategy aimed

at large-scale development of domestic energy industry and its

integration into the international power system.

In this context the offer on a possibility of participation of the world

famous Qatar companies in projects of creation in Turkmenistan

of the plants on conversion of gas, petrochemical and gas-

chemical productions, a construction of the international gas

pipelines, oil and gas infrastructure on the Turkmen site of the

Caspian Sea, and also in supplies of equipment for the oil and

gas industry was stated. Speaking about value of a construction

of the gas pipeline of Turkmenistan-Afghanistan- Pakistan-India,

the President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov expressed interest in

discussion of the questions connected with participation of large

financial and investment structures of Qatar in implementation of

this transnational project.

in 2017 at the Conference on the Energy Charter was mentioned,

within which in November of the current year in Ashgabat the

regular meeting of this organization will take place.

Following the results of negotiations the packet of the documents

aimed at a further intensification of partnership in the energy

sector in the field of standardization, certification, metrology and

accreditation, in the sphere of a biodiversity and wildlife

conservation, through aviaservices, and also between higher

educational institutions of two countries was signed.

Great interest to trade and economic and investment partnership

with Turkmenistan was visually showed by a Turkmen-Qatar

business forum in which some vice-chairmen of Cabinet of

Ministers, heads of the ministries and industry departments, the

Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan,

representatives of government institutions and the largest

companies of Qatar participated.
