Among the key directions of the Turkmen-Korean partnership are oil and gas and chemical industries

Last Friday at the meeting of the government thee vice-chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Maksat Babayev reported on the results of the sixth meeting of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Korean commission on trade and economic and scientific-technological cooperation held at the beginning of April in Ashgabat. As it was noted, during the meeting questions of implementation of the agreements reached earlier, and also further development of partnership in areas, priority for two countries, were discussed.

Among the key directions of the Turkmen-Korean interaction oil and gas and chemical industries were designated. In this regard participants of the meeting discussed a number of perspective projects, in particular, on conversion of natural gas and production of gas-chemical production. The possibilities of participation of the Korean companies in implementation of large projects in construction and transport and communication spheres, metallurgy, automotive industry, agricultural industry were also considered.

Special attention was paid to a cooperation in the sports sphere, including, between National Olympic Committees, sports federations and associations of both countries. Questions of preparation for the V Asian games which are coming this year in Ashgabat in the enclosed space and on martial arts, the organization of other large sporting events, seminars were also discussed.

Upon completion of commission session the Protocol, and also some other documents were signed. The next meeting of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Korean commission on a trade, economic, scientific and technological cooperation is planned to be held in 2018 in the Republic of Korea.

Summarizing the report, the President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted that Turkmenistan was always open for constructive and fruitful international partnership.
