The structure of the Turkmen-Pakistani inter-governmental commission has been approved

The resolution of the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly

Berdimuhamedov approved structure of the joint Turkmen-

Pakistani intergovernmental commission from the Turkmen side

headed by the vice-chairman of Cabinet council of Turkmenistan,

the Minister of Foreign Affairs Rasheed Meredov.

As it is noted in the resolution, the inter-governmental commission

has been created for the purpose of further development of a

cooperation between Turkmenistan and Pakistan.

As the President of Pakistan Mamnun Hussein in the recent

message to the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly

Berdimuhamedov on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of

establishment of diplomatic relations between the countries has

noted, Pakistan is interested in further strengthening of a bilateral

cooperation with Turkmenistan in all areas, including in political

and energy spheres. Now Ashgabat and Islamabad aim to involve

high potential of a cooperation, first of all, in fuel and energy

sector and the transit and transport sphere. So, the countries

participate in a construction of the transnational gas pipeline TAPI

(Turkmenistan-Afganistan- Pakistan-India), discuss projects on

creation of new international transport and communication

corridors, electrical supplies to Pakistan.
