Scientists of the Institute of Petroleum Geology and Geophysics after A.A. Trofimuk of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences developed a digital model of oil fields. These computer reconstructions help analyze the structure of complex reservoirs, see sources of hydrocarbons that would have been invisible with other research methods, the OGIA reports.
“The digital model displays the most important elements of a real field. With the help of such a virtual twin, we can check various scenarios of exploration and development, and then implement the most successful of them.
