The Spanish oil and gas company Repsol jointly with the partner Armstrong Energy opened on Alaska the largest oil field for the last 30 years in the USA, TASS informs with reference to the message Repsol distributed today on it.
According to its information, it is about 1,2 billion barrels of the extracted light crude. The field which was revealed in the region Nort-Sloup near the settlement Nuiksut was received by the name Horseshoe ("Horseshoe"). The company noted that conditional resources could allow production of 120 thousand barrels of "black gold" a day, since 2021.
Repsol began investigation on Alaska since 2008. Since 2011 it made several discoveries in one of zones of this American state. Earlier Spanish company reported that in 2016 its net profit exceeded 1,7 billion euros - the best result in four years.
