The president of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev making a
working trip to the Jizzak region of the country on Thursday
participated in a ceremony of the beginning of a construction of a
new petrochemical complex, Interfax with reference to the press
service of the head of state reports.
"The president of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev
on April 27 participated in a foundation stone laying ceremony of
a modern petrochemical complex in the Jizzak region", - it is said
in the message.
According to the press service, the new complex worth $2,2
billion will process 5 million tons of hydrocarbon raw materials a
year arriving, in particular, from Russia and Kazakhstan.
According to predesigns, the complex will annually make more
than 3,7 million tons of motor fuel, more than 700 thousand tons
of aviation kerosene and 300 thousand tons of the accompanying

In Uzbekistan three oil refineries - Bukhara, Fergana and Altyaryk
work. Their general capacity makes 11,12 million tons, but at the
moment their production capacities are loaded for 60%. In the
republic in recent years the acute shortage of gasoline and other
types of oil products regularly results.
At the beginning of April the Ministry of Energy of the Russian
Federation and Uzbekneftegaz holding company signed the
memorandum of a cooperation in the sphere of oil and gas which,
in particular, implies supply of the Russian oil to Uzbekistan. At an
initial stage the supply rate will make 500 thousand tons.
