Azerbaijan is ready to increase daily supply of gas to Georgia
The Azerbaijani state company SOCAR can deliver to Georgia in
addition 3 million cubic meters of gas a day, the first deputy head
of department of SOCAR of gas export Nazim Samedzade in a
lobby of the II international forum SOCAR "The Caspian Sea and
Central Asia — Trade, Logistics, Oil Processing and
Petrochemistry" told to journalists.
"Now SOCAR every day delivers 7 million cubic meters of gas to
Georgia. In 2016 as a result of carrying out repair work on the gas
pipeline Hajikabul-Gazakh- Gardabani, it was succeeded to
increase daily handling capacity of the pipeline to 10 million cubic
meters of gas. Therefore, we have an opportunity to deliver to
Georgia in addition 3 million cubic meters of gas a day", - he
added.
Besides, Azerbaijan every day receives 8 million cubic meters of
gas from Iran, Samedzade told. "To 7 million cubic meters from
this amount is delivered by the pipeline Hoi-Julfa, and 1 million
cubic meters is delivered by the Astara-Hajikabul pipeline", - he
noted.
The proved inventories of natural gas of Azerbaijan are estimated
at 2,5 trillion cubic meters of gas.
Production of commodity gas in Azerbaijan, according to
Goskomstat, in January-March constituted 4,79 billion cubic
meters that is 0,9 percent more than an indicator of the first
quarter 2016.
Amounts of production of commodity gas in Azerbaijan in 2016
made 18,71 billion cubic meters against 19,72 billion cubic meters
extracted in 2015.
