The number of the operating oil and gas drilling rigs in the world in July reached a maximum since September, 2015. Data of the American oilfield services company Baker Hughes demonstrates it.
On average last month in the world 2110 installations worked against 2041 in June. At the same time July level is at 629 more than indicator for similar month of 2016. The number of oil and gas installations in the world increased following the results of the third month in a row.
In the USA the number of installations in July grew for 22 rather prior months and made 953 that is the highest level since April, 2015. In Canada the indicator raised on 48 - to 198 rigs.
In addition the number of installations in Latin America - on 4 (to 196), in Africa - on 3 (to 89) and in the Pacific Rim - on 1 increased (to 195). At the same time the quantity of drilling rigs in Europe was reduced on 9 (to 82), and in the Middle East their number did not change - 397.
Following the results of 2016 the average monthly number of the operating oil and gas drilling rigs in the world was minimum for the last 17 years and made 1593. The previous year it was 2337 while in 2014 in the world the number of drilling rigs was maximum since 1985, - 3578 worked.
Baker Hughes publishes data on the operating drilling rigs since 1944, the Finmarket tells. At first the company collected information only in the USA and Canada, since 1975 - on the world in general.
