The Norwegian company Statoil drilled three exploratory wells. In one of them oil inflow was received.
According to preliminary estimates of the company, the the field contains at least 25 million taken oil barrels, and in total may contain up to 130 million barrels.
The Norwegian company in this project possesses 70%, Kommersant writes. Two other partners of Statoil — Jersey Oil and Gas and CIECO Exploration and Production — own shares of 18% and 12% respectively. Meanwhile just a few weeks ago results of the research of indicators of production conducted by the University of Edinburgh on the British offshore oil and gas deposits were published. By estimates of scientists, in a subsoil there were only about 10% of initially revealed inventories of oil and gas and if these data are right, scientists warned, Great Britain soon should import all oil and gas necessary for it.
