PJSC "Rosneft" as a part of Consortium Sakhalin-1 successfully finished drilling from the "Orlan" platform on the Chayvo field in the Okhotsk Sea of the most extended well in the world. Well length with the horizontal termination constitutes 15 thousand meters - that is a world record.
The well belongs to the category superdifficult, the complexity index on DDI (Directional drilling index) constitutes 8 points, withdrawal from a vertical constitutes 14 thousand 129 meters, it is reported on the website of "Rosneft".
Since the beginning of a program implementation of drilling operations in 2003 within the Sakhalin-1 project several world records on well-drilling with big withdrawal from a vertical were set. Taking into account new record-breaking deep well the Consortium "Sakhalin-1" drilled nine of 10 most extended wells in the world.
Speed of a drilling of wells with big withdrawal from a vertical on the Sakhalin-1 project - is one of the highest in the world thanks to modern and effective technologies, such as Fast Drill. This technology combines high-quality modeling of physical parameters of drilling with the structured approach to designing of wells.
Well-drilling with big withdrawal allows to reduce construction costs of additional sea constructions, pipelines and other elements of trade infrastructure and also reduces impact on the environment thanks to reducing the area of sites of conducting drilling and mining operations.
