Czech Republic will purchase from Azerbaijan petrochemical products, produced by local petrochemical plants. This was stated by the Secretary of economy and trade of the Czech Embassy in Azerbaijan, Jan Jindra, Trend told.
"Currently, we buy from Azerbaijan only raw material that is further processed at our petrochemical plants. However, at the same time, we follow with great interest over the range of oil products produced in Azerbaijan and is missing in the Czech Republic. From these considerations, the Czech Republic plans to buy from Azerbaijan not only raw materials but also finished petroleum products," - said Jindrich.
According to him, purchase of oil products from Azerbaijan will begin in approximately 2019.
The main product exported from Azerbaijan to the Czech Republic, is the oil that comes in the amount of 2-2,5 million tons per year and accounts for one third of consumption in the Czech Republic oil.
The only producer of oil products in Azerbaijan is the state-owned company SOCAR. In January-November 2017, the country produced of 4.23 million tons of oil products, including gasoline (1 097,6 thousand tons), naphtha (169 thousand tons), kerosene (539 thousand tons), diesel fuel (1 718,4 thousand tons), fuel oil (262,5 thousand tons), lubricants (to 33.6 thousand tons), oil bitumen (208,8 thousand tons), petroleum coke (197,5 thousand tons).
