Oil production in Uzbekistan in 2017 in comparison with 2016 decreased by 6.3% to 806 thousand tons, production of natural gas increased by 0.5% to 56,417 billion cubic meters. It is reported by the state statistics Committee of Uzbekistan, Russian news Agency API reports.
"In the mining industry of Uzbekistan compared to last year there is an increase in natural gas production - 0.5%, to 56,417 billion cubic meters, while oil production decreased by 6.3% to 806 thousand tons", - stated in the message.
Earlier JSC "Uzbekneftegas" national operator for the production and processing of hydrocarbons, reported that gas production in the Republic in 2018, could grow by 17% comparing with the 2017 year - to 66 billion cubic meters - at the expense of field development with the participation of foreign companies.
In Uzbekistan in recent years on a regular basis there is an acute shortage of gasoline and other petroleum products. The total capacity of three refineries of the Republic is about 10 million tons. However, due to the depletion of existing fields oil and gas condensate in the Republic falls. In the result production capacity of the refinery is loaded only on 60%. To supply Uzbekistan is planning in 2018 to import up to one million tons of oil from Russia and Kazakhstan. In particular, by the oil pipeline Omsk – Pavlodar - Shymkent.
In April 2017, the Uzbek side started construction of Jizzakh refinery, which will process up to 5 million tonnes of hydrocarbons per year, coming from Russia and Kazakhstan. The plant cost $ 2.2 billion to be built by 2021, "Prime" reports.
