Azerbaijan plans to start production of gas in the second stage of development of large gas condensate field "Shah Deniz" in the fall of 2018. This was reported by the Azeri state oil company SOCAR, Trend reports.
Initially, production in the framework of the "Shah Deniz-2" will be in small volumes.
With regard to the filling with gas of the Trans-Anatolian pipeline (TANAP), which will begin in January, state oil company said that the source of gas is "Shah Deniz-1", not "Shah Deniz-2", the newspaper notes.
In addition, BP, which is operator of the project "Shah Deniz-2", noted that in 2019, the project is planned to produce an additional 2 billion cubic meters of gas. The entire amount will be supplied to Turkey.
"In general, it is expected that volumes of gas supplies from Azerbaijan to Turkey reach 8.5 billion cubic meters in 2019, compared with 6.5 billion cubic meters in 2017. And in 2021 this will increase to 12.5 billion cubic meters," - BP.
In the framework of the project "Shah Deniz-2" the volume of annual gas production will increase from 9 to 25 billion cubic meters.
At the initial stage, the gas produced within the second phase of development of Azerbaijani gas condensate field "Shah Deniz", is regarded as the main source for the project "Southern gas corridor". At a later stage the project can be connected to other sources.
