CIS scientists discussed prospects for the development of the New silk road

The prospects for the development of the New silk road were discussed by the participants of the panel discussion, which was held within the XIV Forum of creative and scientific intelligentsia of the CIS, which opened in Ashgabat on may 15, the ORIENT news Agency reports.

– Now it is necessary to talk about the New Silk road. Since it is a prototype of a possible new world order, where Asia will dominate, – said Ilham Ramizogly Mammadzadeh, Director of the Institute of philosophy of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan.

The new silk road includes Asian countries United by one economic and transport system. Significant progress has already been made in this regard.

On the route of one of the branches stretched Railways: China – Kazakhstan – Turkmenistan – Iran, Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Tajikistan, launched the international transport corridor "Lazurit" (Afghanistan-Turkmenistan-Azerbaijan-Georgia-Turkey), developed other logistics projects, after the implementation of which many ancient routes will again have modern "caravans" of goods.

— The revival of the Great silk road involves the development of infrastructure along the transport arteries. When there were caravan routes from China to Germany, they were overgrown with roadside infrastructure in the form of industrial enterprises or settlements that formed a certain cultural environment, — said Mikhail Shvydkoy, co-Chairman of the Board of the Interstate Fund for humanitarian cooperation of the CIS.

The project of revival of the Great silk road, launched by Turkmenistan, involves not just a transport route between East and West, but also a large-scale transformation of the entire trade and economic model of Eurasia, and primarily Central Asia.

The mega-project includes many infrastructure sub-projects. Accordingly, the development of transit services will entail the growth of all sectors of the economy and social sphere.

More than 200 delegates from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and the Russian Federation take part in the Forum of creative and scientific intelligentsia of the Commonwealth, which is held within the framework of our country's chairmanship in the CIS this year.
