Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and U.S. under Secretary of state for economic development, energy and environment Keith Krach discussed key issues of bilateral Turkmen-American cooperation in Washington, the website of the foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan reported today.
During the meeting held on Thursday, the parties discussed the development of cooperation in trade, economic and transport-transit spheres, including the possibility of expanding partnership in the oil and gas industry, digital technologies and renewable energy sources.
Meredov also held a meeting with us under Secretary of state for political Affairs David Hale, during which the parties discussed the level of political and diplomatic dialogue between the two countries and considered cooperation within international organizations, primarily the UN.
The diplomats exchanged views on regional security in Central Asia, noted the importance of using preventive diplomacy and expanding humanitarian cooperation.
During the working visit to Washington, the Turkmen delegation headed by foreign Minister R. Meredov also held another round of annual Turkmen-American political consultations at the U.S. Department of State, during which Ashgabat and Washington reaffirmed their firm commitment to further expand the multifaceted partnership between the two countries.
