Putin expressed confidence in further strengthening the strategic partnership between Russia and Turkmenistan

I am confident that in the coming year we will continue our fruitful joint work to strengthen the strategic partnership for the benefit of the peoples of Russia and Turkmenistan, Russian President Vladimir Putin said in his congratulatory message to President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on the occasion of the approaching New year.

"I am pleased to note the dynamic development of the dialogue between our countries, constructive cooperation in trade, economic, energy, humanitarian and other areas," the message of the President of the Russian Federation reads.

Putin also noted that «the successful chairmanship of Turkmenistan in the CIS has contributed to improving the effectiveness of multilateral cooperation mechanisms within the Commonwealth."

Chinese President XI Jinping, US President Donald trump, Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and his wife, Presidents of Kazakhstan Kasym-Jomart Tokayev and Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, and leaders of several other foreign countries also sent congratulations on the new year 2020 and good wishes to President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and all Turkmen citizens.
