A meeting was held in the Central building of the oil and gas complex of Turkmenistan on June 24, 2020 in the form of a video conference between the chairmen of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Korean commission on trade, economic, scientific and technological cooperation.
During the meeting, the state and prospects of bilateral relations between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Korea were examined. The parties exchanged views, as well as identified concrete steps in order to develop cooperation in a wide range of areas, in particular, in the field of economy and investment.
Noting the growth in indicators of trade and economic ties, the parties examined the current areas of cooperation in the field of energy, textile industry, shipbuilding and digital technologies.
During the talks, they also discussed the possibilities for further development of the activities of Korean companies in Turkmenistan, which are actively involved in projects for the construction and modernization of petrochemical complexes in the country. The parties considered the possibility of improving existing projects with Korean companies that have established themselves as reliable partners, and also discussed new projects for the construction of petrochemical industry facilities in Turkmenistan.
