During his visit to the United States, Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov met in New York with Wang Yi, member of the Politburo of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China, according to the website of the Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan.

During the meeting, the parties reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening the comprehensive strategic partnership between Turkmenistan and China.

Prospects for cooperation in trade, economics, innovation, technology, and cultural and humanitarian areas were also discussed.

At the end of the meeting, the two sides reaffirmed their mutual commitment to continuing close collaboration to implement the agreements reached and further strengthen their strategic partnership, the Foreign Ministry reported.
