For over 70 years, scientists at the Nebitgazylmytaslama Institute of the Türkmennebit State Concern have been studying the characteristics of common satellites of oil and gas fields – underground formation waters, which play a decisive role in the formation, storage and distribution of oil and gas deposits. Identifying their formation, movement, chemical composition, physical properties and natural patterns is of great importance as an indicator of the oil and gas content of sediments.
The chemical composition of aquifers, established as a result of scientific research, and the indicators of the oil and gas content of sediments, obtained on the basis of the concentration of individual elements in groundwater, are used in practice in the form of scientific proposals when drawing up plans for exploration and research work. The information obtained complements the oil and gas indicators. Hydrogeological and hydrochemical data are used in accordance with the requirements of the instructions for calculating and developing resources in practice at the appropriate level. They contribute to a detailed compilation of the characteristics and a more accurate determination of hydrodynamic conditions.
