The International Energy Agency (IEA) for the first time in 2023 lowered the forecast for oil demand in the world for 2023 by 170 thousand barrels per day.  This follows from the July report of the agency.

“The demand for oil in the world in 2023 will increase by 2.2 million barrels per day, up to 102.1 million barrels per day,” the report says. This is 170 thousand barrels per day less than predicted in the June report.

The forecast for 2023 is lowered for the first time this year. Prior to that, it rose or remained unchanged, Prime conveys. The IEA notes that the demand in the first quarter amounted to 100.5 million barrels per day.

In the second quarter, the IEA estimates that demand rose to 101.4 million barrels per day, and in the third and fourth, the agency expects it at levels 103.1 and 103.3 million barrels per day.
