According to the results of the first half of the year, the GDP growth rate of Turkmenistan amounted to 6.2%

 As a result of the practical steps taken in the six months of 2023, a stable GDP growth rate was ensured in Turkmenistan, which increased by 6.2%.  This was announced by Vice-Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Hojamyrat Geldimyradov, speaking with a report on the country’s macroeconomic indicators for January-June of this year at an expanded government meeting last Friday.

 The volume of manufactured products compared to the same period in 2022 is 6.2% more.  In the first half of the year, retail trade turnover was 9.3% higher compared to the same period last year, while foreign trade turnover increased by 8%, the Vice-Chairman added.

 It was also reported that wages for large and medium-sized enterprises of the country increased by 9.9% compared to the corresponding period in 2022. Wages, pensions, state benefits and student scholarships have been fully funded.

 Also during the meeting of the government, it was noted that in January-June of this year, the revenue part of the State budget of Turkmenistan was executed at the level of 113.1%, and the expenditure part – 97.6%.

 The volume of capital investments allocated for the development of the national economy from all sources of financing increased in the first half of 2023 by 24.6%, which is 16% in relation to GDP. Of the total capital investments, 49.4% was directed to the construction of industrial complexes, and 50.6% - to the construction of social facilities.
