Turkmenistan celebrated Constitution and State Flag Day

Turkmenistan celebrated Constitution and National Flag Day on May 18. In Ashgabat, with the participation of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, flower-laying ceremonies were held at the Constitution Monument and the Main Flag of the country.

The anniversary events organized in honor of the 300th anniversary of the classic of Turkmen literature Makhtumkuli Fragi gave special intonation to the holiday.  Their participants, including delegates from many countries, also joined the celebrations on the occasion of the Constitution Day and the National Flag of Turkmenistan.

The head of state was the first to lay a wreath at the foot of the Constitution Monument.  Then wreaths and bouquets from members of the Government, leaders of the Mejlis, military and law enforcement agencies, ministries and departments, honorary elders, representatives of missions of other states and international organizations were laid at the foot of the monument.

The same ceremony took place in the square where a 133-meter flagpole was installed - one of the tallest in the world, on which the Main Flag of Turkmenistan flies.

In the evening, a festive concert of art masters was held at the Mukams Palace of the State Cultural Center of Turkmenistan.
