During a visit to Astana, Vice-Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov was received by the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on February 4, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of our country reports.
During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on the further development of political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation between the two countries and discussed the implementation of previously reached agreements, including in the field of energy and transport.
The head of the Foreign Ministry conveyed to the President of Kazakhstan warm greetings from the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
The head of Kazakhstan expressed gratitude and warm greetings to the leadership of Turkmenistan, and congratulated our country on the beginning of the International Year of Peace and Trust, emphasizing the importance of the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's neutrality. President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev highly appreciated the level of development of Kazakh-Turkmen relations in all areas in the spirit of friendship, good-neighborliness and strategic partnership. He also stated that Kazakhstan intends to continue to provide strong support for the implementation of Turkmenistan's international initiatives.
