Turkmenistan and Iran diplomats discussed trade and economic cooperation

A meeting between Deputy Foreign Minister Ahmet Gurbanov and Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Economic Affairs Hamid Ghanbari was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, according to the Ministry's website.

During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on a wide range of bilateral cooperation issues in the political, diplomatic, trade, economic, cultural, and humanitarian spheres. They noted the importance of high-level and summit meetings in expanding friendly bilateral relations.

Trade and economic cooperation were highlighted among the key areas of partnership. In this context, the importance of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Iranian Commission on Economic Cooperation was emphasized.

The agenda also included developing cooperation in the fuel and energy sector and expanding transport and transit potential.

The parties reaffirmed their mutual commitment to further strengthening the Turkmen-Iranian partnership.
