On June 22, the Presidents of Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan, Ilham Aliyev and Serdar Berdimuhamedov, attended a ceremony to donate the oil tanker Dostluk to Turkmenistan from the Republic of Azerbaijan, TDH reports.
The heads of state were given detailed information about the oil tanker. Then, a representative of Azerbaijan asked the presidents of the two countries to initiate the commissioning of the vessel. The heads of Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan simultaneously pressed a symbolic button, after which the tanker's departure was shown on a monitor.
President Ilham Aliyev ceremoniously presented the corresponding certificate to the head of the Turkmen state.
Expressing gratitude to the leader of the neighboring country for the gift of the oil tanker Dostluk to Turkmenistan, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted that he regards the modern vessel as a symbol of the friendly relations between our peoples and confirmation of the high level of strategic Turkmen-Azerbaijani cooperation.
